ABOUT ME                                         C.V.

Dennis Ahearn was born in Florida.  He received his MFA from Temple University's Tyler School of Art.  During his time at Tyler, he studied for a year at Temple's campus in Rome, Italy.  After studying in Philadelphia, he taught for 12 years at his undergraduate alma mater, the University of Central Florida in Orlando.  In 2019 he moved to California where he currently lives and works.

His recent large scale painting project, "Reflections Around the Daily Year," serves as the intellectual foundation of his current research. This body of work, born from deep introspection during the pandemic, utilizes direct drawing and painting from the imagination to grapple with profound, abstract concepts: the fleeting nature of time, consciousness, and collective trauma.
